Adsharp was founded in 1999, by Bill Francisco, who is still very active in the Dunedin community. Julie Schafer was employed with Adsharp from 2006 – 2009. In that time she was the graphic designer, creating logos, flyers and directories for notable clients including the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, the Dunedin Blue Jays & Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training, and the Rotary Honeymoon Nature Center. This is also where Julie learned to create websites, including those with WordPress. Since the beginning, she has taken pride in high quality work. Due to the recession in 2009, Julie was laid off but within a couple of months was hired as the graphic designer for the Tampa Bay Business Journal. They wanted to engage their online audience more with their highly successful business events by creating a microsite for each major event. These microsites were created with a similar CMS (content management system) to WordPress, with which she already had experience. Julie was able to show her manager as well as other markets (owned by American City Business Journals) how to create microsites and carry the “look” of each event into each one. Julie worked there for 3 years until she bought Adsharp.
