It was 1977, and Miami Beach was in the midst of a renaissance. Long recognized as an international symbol of style and glamour, the area was bouncing back from a decline in the late 60s and early 70s. Renovation and revitalization projects were pumping new life into many of the classic hotels that dotted world famous Dade County byways from Ocean Drive to Lincoln Road, and Chanin Mechanical was there.
